2 Peter — PBE 2027 Study Guide
Final words against false teaching.
Peter's farewell letter, warning believers against destructive false teachers and reassuring them of Christ's certain return.
Overview
The Second Epistle of Peter is the Apostle Peter's final letter, written shortly before his martyrdom in Rome. Peter knows his death is imminent (2 Peter 1:13–14) and writes to leave a lasting warning: false teachers will rise within the church, denying the Lord, exploiting the people, and mocking the promise of Christ's return. Peter responds with three powerful themes: growing in true knowledge of Christ (chapter 1), unmasking and resisting false teachers (chapter 2), and looking eagerly for the Day of the Lord and the new heavens and new earth (chapter 3). The book ends with Peter's closing exhortation to grow in grace and the knowledge of Jesus Christ.
